Girl Scout Volunteer Achievement Award: Recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer who has completed a successful first year of service, including the required training for their position, and has agreed to serve the following year. Nomination is to be made by candidate’s supervisor. (example: Service Unit Manager nominates an exceptional first-year leader.)
   
Girl Scout Mentoring Award: Recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer who has previously earned the Volunteer Achievement Award and has become a coach/mentor and provided ongoing support resulting in the retention of a new volunteer. Nomination is to be made by candidate’s mentee. (example: New volunteer nominates their mentor.)
   
Girl Scout Volunteer Executive Award: Recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer who has served in a leadership role as a governance or management volunteer, previously earned the Volunteer Achievement Award and has made significant contributions
   
Girl Scout Volunteer Diversity Award: Recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer who: has increased membership in underrepresented populations through program delivery, community cultivation and collaboration, has increased awareness and understanding through enrichment events or training, and has managed diversity by creating a system that supports the councils’ goals.
   
Girl Scout Fund Development Award: Recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer who: has helped to reach the council’s fund development goal by increasing financial resources through grants, corporations, foundations, major gifts, and has also increased individual contributions that reflect the council jurisdiction’s diversity through grants, planned giving, annual giving and bequests.
   
Girl Community Cultivation Award: Recognizes a registered Girl Scout adult volunteer who: has increased volunteer membership by utilizing the talents and skills of all the dimensions of diversity (18-29, episodic, males, 55 plus, etc.), has increased girl membership that reflects the diversity in the council jurisdiction (racial/ethnic, disability, socio-economic), has embraced Studio 2B by marketing the concept to the community and retaining 11-17 year olds, and has established effective partnerships that help achieve the council’s membership goal through corporate partnerships, government agencies, foundations, small businesses,
religious institutions, etc.
   
   

If this award is approved it will be presented to the recipient at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Party. The information must be completed and received at the Council Service Center by February 15th.


Nomination Process:

  1. An individual familiar with the service that was provided and as specified above completes the nomination form, including an attached sheet answering the appropriate questions.
  2. Email or mail one letter of endorsement for awards other than the Girl Scout Volunteer Achievement Award.
  3. The application and letter of endorsement are received at the Council Service Center by February 15th, either by mail (1025 Highway 3 North, Northfield MN 55057) or email (steph@gsccv.org).
  4. Please keep a copy for your records.
