Girl Scout Council of Cannon Valley

Voice For Girls Platform and Survey for All

We are looking for YOUR VOICE about important Girl Scout issues. In June 2005, the Girl Scouts of the USA Board of Directors endorsed the Voice for Girls platform and Key Principles of Advocacy in Girl Scouting. These documents -- created in partnership with Girl Scout Councils and tied closely to the Core Business Strategy -- provide a unifying foundation as the Movement strives to become “a premier voice for girls and an expert on their growth and development”.

The Voice for Girls platform articulates Girl Scouting’s core values and beliefs and demonstrates our responsibility to address issues that impact girls. It will support and unify core areas of work, including research, fund development, marketing, communications, advocacy and program initiatives. Over the next year the platform will also serve as a foundation piece for the development of the first public policy agenda for Girl Scouting.

You will find an Issue Survey that takes only 10-15 minutes to complete. Please fill out the whole survey to ensure that each participant’s voice and interests are accurately represented. Please return forms to the Girl Scout Public Policy & Advocacy Office by mail to 816 Connecticut Ave. NW, Third Floor, Washington, D.C. 20006, fax to 202-331-8065 or e-mail advocacy@girlscouts.org

The Key Principles of Advocacy in Girl Scouting puts into action a vision and framework for advocacy as a Movement and is supported by a first-of-its-kind process for choosing public policy issues and developing a public policy agenda.

Thank you for your input!
